1. Which handlebar should I choose? I feel that riser would be best, but what do you recommend for riding in a city? Bullhorn, dropdown?

If you want to be the most comfortable, go for our standard riser handlebar - it provides the highest position and is optimal for stress-free ride around the city.

Bull's horns will do best if you want to have a little fun - it is the easiest to skid (slide on the back weel when riding fixed gear). They also make you take more aerodynamic position leaning you a bit forward and downwards.

Dropdown is the most demanding. It forces you (low grip) to take low, areodynamic position, but also decreasig comfort a bit. Additionally, dropdown and bull's horns are a bit narrower compared to riser, making it easier to squeeze through urban traffic.

2. I weight about 110 kilograms and would love to get a Polka. Can it handle me?

We are guaranteeing good behaviour of our frames for riders of up to 90 kgs of weight. Anything above, we cannot guarantee that the frame will hold it in any circumstances. Sorry for this.

3. What's the difference between Polka For Everybody and Polka Pista?

Polka Pista diffrs from our other product lines as follows:

  1. Rolling resistance. We've equipped Pistas with machine Novatec bearings, which make Pistas roll smoother and pedals to spin faster. Machine (sealed) bearings are also more durable than ball bearings that we use in our other products.
  2. The way we connect pipes in frame and fork. Pista's frames are put together using lugs - metal, hand-made fittings of different designs. The pipes are slided in those fittings and soldered together. This method is elegant and gives Pistas its royal looks. Our other products are fitted with welded frames. Welding is more affordable and faster, and equally durable.
  3. Weight. Pistas weight about 9,1 - 9,3 kgs. Our other products - about 10-11 kgs. It is a result of using lighter components.
  4. Finish. Generally speaking, we are putting even more attention to detail when producing each Pista bicycle. The way we polish cranks, the shape of the stem or pedals, the seatpost... Pista is the most beautiful Polka we have ever designed.

When it comes to "modernity" of design, Polka for Everybody (and For Ladies) use a more state-of-the-art production method. Polka Pista is our personal, nostalgic tribute to classical track bicycles produced in '70 and '80. We just needed to design a product series that would express our deepest dreams and aesthetics.

4. Can I pay in installments?

Yes!

We offer mRaty provided by mBank (a Polish bank). When choosing your payment method, choose "Dotpay", and then "mRaty". What's important is that it is not us who provide you with the loan - it's the bank (higher security). This also means you have to pass through their risk assesment process.

5. What kind of steel do you use in Polkas?

The frames and forks are made out of highest-quality, lightweight and durable chrome-molybdenum steel (cromo 4130 alloy)

6. What size of frame will be the best for me? Where can I find product specs?

You can read about the exact measurement of our frames and specs of other components on the respective product lines' sites (at the bottom).

7. Do Polkas have brakes?

As a standard all Polka Bikes fixies are fitted with one brake. If you choose single speed version, apart for the freewheel mechanism, you will get additional brake.

The second brake is neccessary because with fixies, you can brake with the strength of your legs. Single speeds don't have that feature. Safety first!

8. Can I modify my Polka in any way?

OF COURSE! you can design your Polka entirely by yourself by going to our creator. You can also use our readily-available models and just modify it by clicking "modify in creator" at the bottom of each product's page.

If there are any modifications that cannot be done through our creator, please contact us, we can do far more (e.g. install gears)

9. Is there a guarantee?

Yes. each of our products is covered by two-years guarantee (the components of our bike), and we also give a lifetime guarantee for the frame for the first owner. You can read all the terms & conditions at this link.
